Even with all of its Hadoop goodness…

Hardware can still suck.  We took a paper bicycle approach to hardware because the real value of Hadoop is in the software.

Crappy hardware is always a burden.  It’s the little things.  I just want a RAID controller that works without adding special drivers, creating special case installs and going thru obtuse gyrations.  Or a Ethernet device that doesn’t require special kernel parameters.  I would never ask for both. ^_^

We will persevere, but once it a while, you think it wouldn’t take so much work. :-/
